I’m always on the hunt for the best shopping spots in the city. Yaletown is well-known for their collection of fabulous restaurants and patios, but it’s also a retail hot spot. I picked out a few of my favourites.
The newest addition to the Yaletown district, shoe store Rowan Sky. A collaboration of apparel, footwear, & accessories, with fashion-worthy men and women’s brands like Alexander McQueen for Puma, Miss Sixty, Energie, Camper, Repetto, Sessun, Firetrap and Anastasia Lomonova. Can someone say shoe heaven?
Yaletown hosts Vancouver’s only marimekko store. The Finnish company was made famous in then 60’s when Jacqueline Kennedy was spotted in marimekko dresses on the campaign trail. Known for their bright colours and patterns (nothing gloomy here), the marimekko store is a mix of clothing for men, women and children along with houseware and décor.
I’m all about the pretty and that’s why Boudoir is one of my personal favourites. Known for it’s vast collection of dresses by brands like Nu Collective, Dolce Vita and Covet. It’s the perfect spot to drop by when you’re having a fashion emergency – last minute date, upcoming wedding or even if you’re just having a rough day.
One of the city’s original beauty emporiums is BeautyMark. The intimate store is filled from head to toe with all things beauty. I’m currently loving Oribe’s 24 Karat Pomade – for those glamourous nights of course. Cargo’s Bronzing Kit – to achieve that summer glow minus the hours in the sun. And the Clean Fresh Laundry Home Candle – to replicate that fresh laundry scent, fluffy towels and all.
