  8. renee

By far the USA / CANADA hockey game. The atmosphere of the whole night was like no other. It’s the only event so far I’ve seen everyone so intrigued by and talking about.

  9. Fiona

I love the sense of community and the buzz downtown-wish we could bottle it and have the happy, happy feeling available anytime.

  10. Larissa

My favourite part so far has to be the free concerts — so much local talent finally getting some recognition outside of Vancouver!

  11. Davis

The pride I felt for my country when we lost the Can/USA hockey game, but were not sore losers. Rather, everyone in the end just seemed to be more excited about being at the Olympics than concerned about who won/lost.

My favourite part? It’s a tie. Honestly, the atmosphere in this city is absolutely ELECTRIC. I can’t believe how crowded, energetic, and happy everyone is and how united we all feel, I love it. And of course, Tessa Virtue and Scott Muir’s gold medal win last night was amazing – I’m not even a fan of ice dancing, but it really took my breath away.

  43. Michelle

    The atmosphere downtown is amazing.

  44. Natalie

Awesome tee-shirt! Favorite part – the friendliness of the city. People are talking to strangers! On the train, in the streets, in bars. Vancouver can be a bit of an unfriendly city, the Olympics has definitely changed things!

  45. Lisa

I have loves sharing these games with my children. It is so nice to have athletes to look up to and show what hard work can really turn into!

  46. Fresh

The Victory ceremony is awesome, it’s good to see so many people from all over the World come together in Vancouver and celebrate the athlete’s journey. Every athlete on that podium no matter the colour of medal could stood there with pride…

  47. Craig

My favorite part of the games is experiencing the Olympic fever in Downtown Vancouver, Richmond, on the Canada Line, and everywhere else in the Lower Mainland. Words can’t express the vibe in Vancouver!

  48. Ramanath

Loved the colors of olympic uniforms …

  49. I love the energy on the streets and the sense that there is something larger than ourselves. The Canadian Patriotism and the shared experiences.
My hope is that Vancouver can be more exciting all the time, and that more street parties, bands etc continue.

  50. Jonathan

Curling. I have loved every game so far. Go Canada.

  51. María Gómez

I’m living the Games from my country, Spain. The best part has been being able to show my students the Vancouver 2010 website and the cultural events taking place in the host cities. They have learned about many sports that aren’t popular in Spain and they have forgotten about football (soccer) for a moment. Great games and a great city!!

  52. Kellie

The best part(s) has been having my daughter, age 12, see all of the sights, meet all the wonderful people from all areas of the world (who hardly had heard of our city before the Olympics) and experience the display of Canadian pride.

  58. I love how the Games have made people truly appreciate how beautiful this city is – locals are getting out and exploring new neighbourhoods, visitors are taking in all the attractions and restaurants, and everyone is happy and having a good time.

  59. Chuchi

Tha Canadian patriotism and once in a life time experienced … lucky to live in the best city in the world.

  60. Anne

My favorite part of these Olympics has been walking around down at Robson and Granville. I am not a fan of standing in lineups so I am happy to just wander and soak in the ambience. Going down at night is a different experience altoghether too. Great fun either time!

  61. Natalie

My favorite has been the ice dancing – it is beautiful! And the 2-man bobsled was great!

  68. Gina

Best parts of the Vancouver Olympics — the city is beautiful, very clean, and walkable; the friendliness of the Canadians; and that you could watch events at any bar you dropped by.

Funny anecdote, my husband was wearing his Washington Capitals jersey when we walked into a bar. A fellow Canadian hockey fan was about to say “Ovechkin sucks”, but then saw the back of his jersey, and said “Backstrom?” We all had a good laugh.

  69. Christine

The amazing energy in the city and the patriotism shown by all countries!

  70. Sann RG

My favourite part of the games it’s all the spirit and pride the people has. Canadians, american, russians, all of them want to show the true colors of their nations..and beside the differences between them (language, citenship, reliofion, etc) you can see them in the streets cheering, smiling and sharing! All of the venues, the free events, the games has that spirit…JOY!

  71. christine

My favorite part of the games was watching the Canadians and USA hockey treams battle it out. Although USA won and I am very proud of my county, I am very proud to have Canada as my neighbor. You have a beautiful country and I am planning on visiting Vancouver in May 2010 and will look for those red mittons to wear on my Alaskan cruise..Can you get me one please Oh beautiful Canada?

  72. The best part of the Olympics – the spirit shown by the Canadians in everything! This American applauds you!

  74. Michelle

I can’t limit these games to one single favourite, everything has been simply amazing. Right down to the cherry blossoms and tulips at City Hall! What other destination can provide such diversity & spectacular surroundings. I am proud to be a Canadian.

  78. Anna

love all the spectacular finals… Sven getting DQ’d for missing a lane change…. and the moguls event is awesome!

  79. My favorite experience of the Olympic Winter Games was the HUGE SUPPORT for the Olympic athletes and fans. I am wearing my big red USA cowboy hat, waving my Canadian flag, standing next to two Swedish ladies with faces painted of their nations colors, and the other side the Swiss fans holding their elaborately painted cow bells, cheering and shaking our cowbells as the ladies ski the Downhill course. The noise from the crowds is inspiring you can’t help but cheer all of the competitors on!

  80. Anette

    Great atmosphere.
People are so friendly and happy.
It´s great to be here and be part of the spirit.
    Really great games.
    Go canada go:-)

  84. Jody

My favorite part has been the 4 days of gorgeous sunny weather!!

  85. Lingly Wilson

Definitely the people watching. Talking to people both from around the world or country and the locals. Having my kids see how everyone is so friendly and cheery, patriotic and over all great attitude toward each other. United nations……great experience for kids to see and experience. The free stuff is a bit over-rated b/c of all the long long line-ups. Not great when you have kids in tow.

  86. laughter

the best part of the olympics is the spirit of the canadian people! pretty amazing all the cheering going on – plus the people watching is pretty fun :)

  89. Michelle

My favorite part has been the beautiful image of Vancouver.

  90. Cait

I love the memories that are associated with each of the places. I’m unfortunately not in Vancouver right now – but seeing it in bold around all the other cities reminds me of all the time I have spent in Vancouver (the past 4 years). The places, the sights, the city and how proud I am to be a Canadian and be associated with all the other cities that have held Olympic games.

  91. Patti

My favourite part is that everybody is out and about the town day and night and showing their Canadian colours.

  92. Linda

I am a very proud Canadian Vancouverite living in the State of Virginia, USA…I have friends and family members sending me all their pictures of the Olympics and I have been watching TV…I am so home sick its not even funny….Personally I think Canada and Vancouver have shown the world that we are awesome people and can play with the big boys!!!!!

  96. Wow, that’s a great design!

My favourite part of the games so far? Wow, there’s so many. Being across the street from BC Place during the Opening Ceremony as the fireworks lit from the roof.

Sitting next to Team Russia and international tourists watching Canada’s women’s hockey team cream Slovakia in the Hotel Vancouver as Joe Biden strolled around.

Catching the last few seconds of Maelle Ricker winning gold in snowboard cross minutes away from where she grew up.

Watching Sweden vs. Belarus men’s hockey in person with my boyfriend, Dad, and sister, where everyone in Canada Hockey Place were cheering equally for both teams.

And of course, last night’s Virtue and Moir’s gold medal ice dance victory!

  97. I love this winter olympic games. This game make me feel very proud about the Canadian athletes.Specially Ms.Christine Nesbitt, speed sketer touch me very deeply. But if I get it I will keep it as an inspiration to better for this great country.

  98. Carol Hladun

  104. Rachel

    It’s been great fun!
    Cute t-shirt! (-:

  105. Carole Bender-Resnick

I am a “Winnipeger” living in Minneapolis and rooting for the Canadian teams. I have never applied for US citizenship; I believe the reason is that I had to sing Oh Canada every morning through the 9th grade.

I am thrilled that the games are in Vancouver. It shows the world how beautiful Vancouver is. My favorite part, of course, is ice skating. One cannot learn alpine skiing living on the prairies. But it is sure fun to watch.

  106. Sanaz

My favourite part has been meeting the athletes and going to all the International houses.

  107. Nicole

By far, my favourite part of the games has been the amazing atmosphere! I have never been so proud to not only live in Canada, but more importantly, Vancouver!

  108. Clara

The best part of the games = COWBELLS!

It doesn’t matter where you’re from, cheering is universal.

  109. Grace

Seeing friends and family from all over the world come and enjoy the games. Going to an event almost every other day and rallying with fellow Canadians.

  110. Purdy

    What a great idea for a t-shirt!

My favorite part about the games is seeing everyone excited and in the Olympic spirit supporting all the athletes.

  111. Brenda Prest

The fact the visitors from around the world have chosen to come visit our beautiful city as we host the
olympics is pretty awesome.Everyday since the olympics have begun,I have had the opportunity to meet someone different, and learn something about their culture, people who I know I would not have ever
met otherwise,if we didn’t have this spectacular event.
    That is my favourite!

  112. Samir

It’s great that everyone’s taking transit. Hopefully, this will continue.

  113. What I love about the Olympics is that everyone always seems to be having a great time! It looks like a giant party and its fun to watch.

My favourite part about these Olympics was when Virtue and Moir were about to get on the podium, but first they did the two cheek kiss to the Russians and the US team. I LOVED that. It was so gracious, polite, and, in my opinion very Canadian.

  114. My favourite part of the Olympics was when Virtue and Moir were about to get on the podium. They did the two cheek kiss to the Russians and the US team. It was so gracious, polite, and in my opinion very canada. I LOVED it!

  115. Maried Quintana

My favorite part is that all countries can be together in one place… C=
And this place is Vancouver, the city which inspired people like Kelly to do a beautiful T-Shirt…
    Very nice… =D

  116. Alex D

My favourite part of the games so far was being out on Granville Street on the weekend. The excitement in the air is palpable and people are just so happy to be in the city. If everyone could be this happy all the time what a wonderful world it would be.

  117. Heather

I had an amazing time with friends at the Germany/Belarus men’s hockey game…it didn’t matter where in the world you were from, there was so much energy, excitement, cheering (for both sides!) & fun in Canada Hockey Place!

I also loved strolling through the city in the sunshine & checking out all of the free international venues…I found people in Vancouver to be consistently friendly & the Olympic volunteers on the street were always super kind & helpful…as an American living right next to the border I appreciated the hospitality of my neighbors to the north & look forward to coming back on Saturday!

  118. Julie

I love hearing my elementary students make plans to start training for the Olympics. Recently heard: “Yeah, Luge would be fun but I don’t want to go down by myself so I’m going to start a Bobsleigh team with my friends!”

  119. Angela

Watching Team Canada send the big guns of Team Russia home packing in men’s hockey…and Canadian women winning four medals all in one day…it’s definitely a proud moment to be Canadian.

  120. bruce

i have friends living in vancouver and i am following all the happenings via her facebook site i must admit i wish i was there to enjoy all the excitement of the olympics the canadians are really in the spirit of the games and that is what the olympics is all about. My friend also teases me endlessly about the atmosphere and the buzz of all the visitors alas my holiday is booked for next january.

  121. Michelle Linhart

What I’ve loved about the Olympics so far is the energy rippling throughout the city. I feel like I’m part of a huge family every time I walk down Granville after we’ve won a gold – or a hockey game – and people are laughing and screaming “YEAH CANADA!”. It electrifying – not to mention contagious! I wish Vancouver could be like this all the time :)
The Olympics should never end…..and the Representative Houses should never leave!!

Love the shirt by the way, looks awesome!

  122. Karen

If I had to choose, I would say that the torch relay has been my favourite part of the Games so far. I checked out four different spots where I knew the torch bearer would be running by because I couldn’t get enough of the experience! Every time I saw the torch bearer carrying that flame and saw all the people on the street smiling and waving, it made me feel so proud to be Canadian. It was truly a wonderful and inspiring event.

  123. Louise

The fantastic atmosphere in Pacific Coliseum when Virtue/Moir won Ice Dancing gold. Being able to experience that with my mom is my Olympic experience.

  124. andrea

Joannie Rochette is a picture of courage and inspiration. Seeing her win bronze was beautiful.

Btw, thank you, beautiful Vancouver, for hosting!

  125. Jamie

My favourite moments have been being among one of many haphazard gatherings huddled in front of storefront televisions on the streets, riveted to the live action as our Canadian athletes perform. Then as we win another medal (10 golds!), the glorious eruption of cheers and celebrations. Magnificent.

  126. Edina Hot

My favorite part of the games has been the atmosphere downtown! It’s electric!

  127. Adam

My favorite part of the games has been going to see the torch relay with my best friend!

  128. Jeff

My favorite part of the Olympics has been all of the free outdoor concerts in town.

  129. My favorite part of the games? Well I can’t choose between being there to sing and cheer for Canada in the streets/everywhere and seeing friends win the Gold in Ice Dance in person. I’ve loved every minute of it!

  130. Lola

I love ice dancing! I didn’t know the sport very well ( and have ignored it in favor of ice skating in the past) but I think it is so beautiful!

  131. My favorite part of the games has got to be CURLING! Being Canadian, I am in love with that sport; and, while hockey is a great Canadian past-time… we mustn’t forget that Canada rules the ice when it comes to throwing a rock at a house :)

  132. KinVan

The atmosphere was the best! Everyone was so friendly and relaxed. All the gold medals didn’t hurt either. Love the t-shirt and hope it’s not too late!

  133. May

The enthusiastic crowd and the energy that was flowing in the air! Everyone has a unique goal – to participate either volunteering, competing or watching as spectators.

  134. Angela

For me, the electricity of excitement that has overtaken Vancouver is fantastic. I feel excessively proud to be Canadian.
