The Bachelorette Canada and its harem of men are leaving town.
This week, a number of productions are leaving town, including the Britney Spears biopic and a CBC spy thriller series.
But taking their place is one predatory production. (And no, we we’re not talking about The Bachelorette Canada.)
Predator 4, or The Predator, was originally scheduled to start shooting on September 26 but the start date has been postponed to October 17 and continuing until February 8.
Details about the film, written and directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys), are being kept under wraps so details are very minimal.
Several reports do state it’s a sequel rather than a reboot of the series, which began with the 1987 film Predator.
He said he’d be back.
That movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in a star-making turn as the leader of a special forces team rescuing a hostage from Central America guerrillas but they themselves being stalked by a mysterious and powerful extraterrestrial hunter.
The film’s box office success lead to two sequels, Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010), as well as two crossovers: Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).
Benicio Del Toro
A few Hollywood men, including Ben Affleck and James Franco, were rumoured to be in consideration for the lead. But Benicio Del Toro was reported to be in negotiations in September to star in the film.
We’ll keep an eye out for further details but audiences will have to wait until February 9, 2018, to see it in theatres.
Amandla Stenberg
The feature drama Everything Everything finished up on October 7 (started September 6).
Based on Nicola Yoon’s novel, the film centres on a teenage girl, played by Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games) who has lived a sheltered life due to an extreme number of allergies, due to severe combined immunodeficiency.
Her social world has been limited to her mother and her nurse, played by Ana de la Reguera (Jane the Virgin).

But uh-oh—when a boy played by Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) moves in next door, it’s time for boy trouble as she begins to fall in love.
The Romeo Section
As we previously mentioned, the Vancouver-based Canadian TV spy thriller series The Romeo Section wraps up production on Season 2 on October 12 (after starting on July 4).

The season premiere already hit the airwaves on CBC on October 5.
It’s Britney Spears, b******.
Meanwhile, Britney wraps up on October 14 (after starting on September 19).
The unauthorized two-hour TV biopic stars Natasha Bassett as the pop star, who goes from a meteoric rise to worldwide fame to tabloid trash fodder before getting back on track.

It also details her relationship with Justin Timberlake, played by Nathan Keyes (Cleaners).
Rounding out the rest of ‘NSYNC are Zac Vran as JC Chasez, Matt Visser as Joey Fatone, Connor Paton as Lance Bass and Frankie Cena as Chris Kirkpatrick.
These guys are getting ‘NSYNC with Britney.
The TV movie reportedly also includes a scene recreating Britney’s infamous attack on paparazzi with an umbrella (back in her Sinead O’Connor shaved-head phase) in 2007.
There’s no word yet if the scene will feature a musical cameo by Rihanna (who’ll be in town to shoot Bates Motel) singing her song “Umbrella” but one can always hope….
Jenna Elfman
Speaking of imaginary things, another production about to leave the city is Imaginary Mary, which wraps up production on Season 1 on October 28.
The TV series, which started shooting in town on August 22, stars Jenna Elfman as an independent career woman whose life undergoes upheaval when she meets the love of her life—a man with three kids.
Things get even crazier when her imaginary childhood friend, Mary (voiced by Rachel Dratch), returns to give her advice.
The Bachelorette Canada
Also completing production for its inaugural season is Bachelorette Canada, which puts away its roses on October 31 (after starting on March 19) and taking its bachelorette and bevy of bachelors with it.
If you want to check out this Canuck version of the romance-obsessed U.S. reality TV series, starring Jasmine Lorimer (from Kenora, Ontario) as the bachelorette, it airs on W Network on Tuesdays at 9 p.m.

Of course, there are plenty of other TV series you can catch on the home screen that were shot in Vancouver, including Supergirl, which just launched Season 2 on October 10.
