300+ Beers On Tap for the 8th Annual Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW 2017)

Vancouver Craft Beer Week 2017

Cheers! Vancouver Craft Beer Week

From May 26, 2017 – June 4, 2017 it’s a celebration of suds! Craft Beer Week kicks off this Friday – the largest craft beer celebration in Canada with over 15,000 attendees getting together to knock back some cold ones in the summer sun.

The festival is so big that it couldn’t even be contained to one week. The 10-day festival is full of live entertainment, community events, and – oh yeah – lots and lots of beer! There are also tap takeovers, block parties, crawfish boils, and a whole lot more.

The festival culminates at the signature VCBW Festival on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the PNE Fairgrounds (2901 E Hastings Street) when 100 craft breweries and cideries will come together to pour 300+ beer and ciders for eagerly awaiting craft beer aficionados.

Tickets to the VCBW Festival at the PNE go for $40 each and will get you 2 drink tokens and a 4oz souvenir taster mug. These tickets are likely to sell out, so make sure you pick up a few before it’s too late.

The craft beer scene has exploded in Vancouver over the last few years, with over 70+ new craft breweries in BC. Now, there are new breweries popping up every day, giving rise to nicknames like “Yeast Van”.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week works to celebrate this trend of brewing ‘real beer’ close to home. So much so, that it has earned the reputation as Western Canada’s premier event for craft beer, cider, food and music. By attending the events, you’ll get the opportunity to taste exciting new drinks from breweries from all across the province. (Full list available here).

At the 8th annual VCBW festival at the PNE, you can expect more than just beer, there will also be:

  • 4 stages with live music and DJs
  • 10 food trucks to fulfill all your drunk munchie needs
  • a full games area with bocce, pinball, foosball, and frisbee
  • a pop-up barber shop
  • and more surprises!

To warm up for the signature event on the first weekend in June, check out the full list of events happening around town. Highlights include the opportunity to sample beer ice cream, a “feats of strength” competition, and an homage to the extremely popular Portland Fruit Beer Festival.

More information about the event can be found on the VCBW Festival website.
