The Vancouver Christmas Market transforms Jack Poole Plaza into a holiday wonderland.

Looking for something more festive than a mall Santa and a red Starbucks cup? The hotly-anticipated Vancouver Christmas Market is returning to Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver from November 21 – December 24th.

This authentic, European-inspired Christmas market is romantic, aromatic, and full of good food, drinks, and crafts. Based on the centuries-old tradition of Christkindlmarkts in Germany, the Vancouver Christmas Market brings an authentic pop-up village to the Jack Poole Plaza for the holiday season.

For 2018, the festive, family-favourite is back with more than 80 artisan huts full of sweets, treats, and treasures to enjoy – all with a glass of Glühwein (mulled wine) in hand!

Opening for the season on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, you can quickly get into the holiday season by stepping into the Vancouver Christmas Market. Visitors can wander the market’s many alleyways and discover authentic German delicacies including sausages, pork shank, beer, cakes, and many more options.

After you’ve eaten your fill, there are also many shops to explore, whether you’re on the hunt for a new Christmas tree ornament or some gifts of handmade jewellery or pottery.

If you plan on bringing the kids, there are plenty of activities to keep them entertained throughout the evening. There is an arts and crafts igloo, a 30-foot tall walk-in Christmas tree decked out with thousands of twinkling lights, a photo hut, visits with santa and more. And most exciting, you can take a spin in the old-fashioned carousel – the only one in downtown Vancouver.

Club Christmas

Held every Thursday from 7:30pm until late, Club Christmas includes warm Glühwein, room to boogie, and high-energy tracks from a DJ spinning from the Christmas Pyramid. Enjoy after-work drinks with later hours on Thursdays as you bust-a-move and belt out a karaoke tune in the Alpine Lounge.

Lovers’ Lane & Love-Lock Installation

For the lovebirds, you can experience an extra dose of romance and magic by taking a stroll with your sweetheart down glittering walkways full of twinkling lights. There’s also plenty of mistletoe hanging around if you’re looking for an excuse to grab a smooch! If you want to make it count, you can purchase a heart-shaped lock for $3 or bring your own to add to the installation.

Foodie Tuesdays

On November 27 and December 4, all food fanatics are invited to sip and sample with smaller portions for a lower price during Children’s Wish Weeks’ Foodie Tuesdays! Participating vendors throughout the market will be offering exclusive discounts and trial-size tastes so you can curate your very own festive food tour.
