Filming in Vancouver: Surveillance starts up, Another Life and You Me her wrap

It’s another week of productions finishing up just before the holiday season. In this week’s roundup, a new sci-fi drama and a poly-rom-com are both calling it a wrap.
But wait—there’s a new spy-thriller drama that’s just getting going.
Wanna know what’s going on in Vancouver’s screen scene? Check out the lowdown after the jump.

Production for the pilot for a new TV series entitled Surveillance will get underway on Tuesday (November 27) to December 14
The CBS series is a spy-thriller drama that follows the head of communications of the U.S. National Security Agency, played by Sophia Bush (Chicago P.D.), who finds herself in a predicament of being forced to choose between protecting the secrets of the government versus her own.

Allen Leech (Bohemian Rhapsody) will portray her husband, who is also a former CIA operative.
The cast also includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Matthew Modine, and Raphael Acloque.

Meanwhile, two TV series are completing work on their latest seasons.
The new Netflix sci-fi drama Another Life completes production on 10 episodes for Season 1 on Tuesday (November 20) after starting back on August 20.
Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) stars an astronaut leading a crew on an investigative mission to search for alien intelligence and to determine the origins of an alien artifact—but encounter extreme challenges that threaten their survival.

The full cast has since been revealed to include Selma Blair, Tyler Hoechlin, Justin Chatwin, Samuel Anderson, Blu Hunt, and Elizabeth Faith Ludlow.

Additional cast members include A.J. Rivera, Alexander Eling, Alex Ozerov, Jake Abel, JayR Tinaco, Jessica Camacho, Barbara Williams, and Lina Renna.

Unfortunately, the premiere date hasn’t been revealed yet so keep your eyes peeled for an announcement to come.

Erstwhile, a very different type of TV series is also finishing this week.
You Me Her completes production on Season 4 on Friday (November 30), having begun back on October 15.
This polyamorous bisexual rom-com, which is a U.S.-Canada coproduction, revolves around a suburban couple Jack and Emma (Greg Poehler and Rachel Blanchard) in Portland, Oregon, who develop an all-inclusive romantic relationship with university student Izzy who works as a part-time escort (Priscilla Faia).

In Season 2, the “throuple” experienced the complex challenges of maintaining a longterm three-way relationship.
And in Season 3, they faced the prospect of splitting up and heading into conventional norms—or committing to a three-person union.
What will Season 4 hold for the trio, you ask?

We don’t quite know yet (and the season premiere date hasn’t been announced but will be coming soon in 2019). But what we do know is that Season 5 is already confirmed. So whatever happens, there will be a future for the characters.

And equally so, there is a future for Vancouver’s screen scene, as numerous projects continue on into the new year and more productions continue to arrive.
So don’t forget to check back in with us again in the near future for more on what’s shooting in town.
