Grouse Mountain’s been transformed into Vancouver’s North Pole for their annual Peak of Christmas event, featuring Santa’s workshop, a gingerbread village, and other holiday activities.

But, most importantly, the Peak of Christmas also means that the annual Light Walk is turned back on! Your Instagram account will thank you! The spectacular Grouse Mountain Light Walk is an enchanting way to spend a winter evening on top of a mountain.

Set up amongst the tall trees, the Light Walk is a short adventure through the woods and around Blue Grouse Lake with light installations that make for a perfect setting for a spontaneous photo shoot.

Open all day, the Light Walk is especially magnificent after night falls and the dazzling display of lights can shine their brightest. While the path is fairly flat, it may be a good idea to bring a comfortable and sturdy pair of walking shoes, or consider renting a pair of snowshoes ($20) if you don’t want to worry about slipping.

There is a nice little warming hut in the middle of the Light Walk that is a great place to grab a hot cup of cocoa, tea, cider, or coffee. It’s typically less crowded than the main lodge, so it can be a good hideaway during those busy weekend evenings.

Taking a tour through the Light Walk is included in admission, which is $45+tax if you’re an adult. With the wide variety of events available at the Peak of Vancouver, it’s definitely worth the price of admission!

Aside from the Light Walk, there are plenty of other things to do during Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas celebrations, including:

Sliding Zone Get your snow carpet rental* and…slide! It’s the Sliding Zone, providing designated lanes and groomed terrain perfect for sliding. Whoosh! Perfect for the child in all of us. Snow level and weather permitting. 12pm-8pm
