Feathers will be flying at the annual Vancouver Pillow Fight this weekend!

How often can you say that you were in a pillow fight with hundreds of other people? On Saturday, April 6, 2019, you can do just that at the Vancouver Art Gallery (along Georgia Street)! The annual Vancouver Pillow Fight is back and it’s ready for action.

“Organized” by Flash Mob Vancouver, the pillow fight just appears and then is gone with a flurry of feathers… It’s a half hour of mayhem, pillows, and pyjamas – the perfect combination for an afternoon in downtown Vancouver!

International Pillow Fight Day is actually celebrated worldwide and there will be simultaneous pillow fights around the world on Saturday. Pillows will be flying in places like India, New York, Amsterdam, and Brazil!

The Vancouver pillow fight starts promptly at 3:00 PM when someone rushes in with a battle cry of: “PILLOW FIGHT!!!!!” On that command, you run into the crowd, swinging left and right with your weapon of choice (foam or feathers!)

If you prefer to watch the action from the sidelines, the Vancouver pillow fight also offers some outstanding photo opportunities. Stand back from the frantic pillow fighters and snap a few action shots with feathers flying!

If you want to join in on the fun (YOU SHOULD), there are a few rules to follow:

1. Soft pillows only!

2. Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.

3. Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.

4. Remove glasses beforehand!

5. The event is free and appropriate for all ages.Wait until the signal to begin.

6. Remember: This event is more fun with feathers!
