Filming in Vancouver: The Flash, Little Fish, and Home Before Dark all wrap

The Flash is finishing up production on Season 5.

This week is all about calling it a wrap.

There’s a high-concept feature film that pits love against memory loss that’s finishing up production.

And over on the small-screen side of things, an Arrowverse TV series and a brand new teen investigative series are also completing production on their most recent seasons.

So, if you care to join us, here’s a look at what’s leaving Vancouver’s screen scene this week.

Jack O’Connell

First up, the feature film Little Fish calls it a wrap on Friday (April 12).

This sci-fi romance, which started back on March 11 and is directed by Chad Hartigan (Morris From America), is an adaptation of a short story by Aja Gabel.

Olivia Cooke

Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) and Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) portray a young married couple who endeavour to keep their relationship going as a strange memory-loss epidemic threatens to erase all memories of their history together.

Soko

The cast also includes Raúl Castillo, Soko, Katerina Katelieva, and more.

A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

The Flash

On the home screen front, an Arrowverse series is completing production on its latest season.

The Flash will finish up shooting Season 5 on Wednesday (April 10). The show has been in production since July 6 of last year.

Grant Gustin

The series stars Grant Gustin as the ever-zippy titular character, and the cast includes Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, and Patrick Sabongui.

Jesse L. Martin, who plays Detective Joe West, had taken a medical leave of absence for much of Season 5 due to a back injury but the good news is that he managed to recover and returned to set in January.

Season 5 premiered back on October 9 last autumn and the finale is slated to air on May 14.

But the even better news is that the show will be back—in a flash, so to speak—for a sixth season.

Brooklynn Prince

Meanwhile, a new TV series by Apple has gone by numerous titles while it’s been in production, including Magic Hour, Ink., Hilde Cracks the Case, and the Untitled Hilde Lysiak Project.

It’s now listed on IMDb as Home Before Dark.

Season 1 has been in production since November 12 and will finish up on April 15.

The story is based upon the true story of Hilde Lysiak who began her career as an crime reporter at the age of 9 when she reported on a murder in her neighbourhood and published it in her own newspaper that she launched herself.

In the TV series, a young girl, played by Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), relocates from the city to live with her father in a small lakeside town. There, she stumbles across several clues that unearths a cold case that others attempted to hide—including her own father.

Louis Herthum

The cast includes Jim Sturgess, Abby Miller, Louis Herthum, Michael Weston, and Kylie Rogers.

A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet so keep your eyes peeled for announcements about when this one will be released.

And on that note, you can keep your eyes also peeled for Vancouver in the backgrounds of shows you’re watching until we meet again for more chatter about what’s going on in Hollywood North.
