If beer had a holiday, this would be it. Friday, May 31, 2019, marks the kickoff of the 10th annual Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW), one of the most highly anticipated events of the year!

Named the Best Beer Festival in Vancouver for five years straight, if you love beer (and especially craft beer), you have got to find your way to a VCBW event.

A festival with humble beginnings, the Vancouver Craft Beer Week was first started after the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as a small get-together with around 100 beer aficionados and 15 breweries. Since then, it has exploded in popularity.

Now, a decade since VCBW first began, the city-wide celebration takes place over 10 days, with more than 50,000 people taking part in dozens of events across the city—including 15,000 people at the annual VCBW Festival at the historic PNE Fairgrounds.

In addition to the Kickoff Party celebrating the big 10 year anniversary and the VCBW Festival, there are numerous events around the city. Many of which still have tickets available. Events include Simpsons trivia, beer trivia, beers & burlesque, beer bike tours, and much more…

In addition to the ticketed events, restaurants and venues across the lower mainland will also be joining in the festivities by hosting unique events celebrating craft beer throughout the week.

But, the culmination of the festival rests on the hotly-anticipated VCBW Festival at the PNE Fairgrounds on June 8th and 9th.

The weekend boasts a non-stop menu of delights, including live music, food, art, craft beer and cider, games, and good times.

Most importantly, the festival will feature 100 craft breweries and cideries pouring more than 300 beers and ciders, plus live performances and 20+ food trucks serving up delicious local eats. A full list of participating breweries is available on the VCBW website.

Tickets to the event are just $39 for general admission and are going fast. If you want to make sure you’re there to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the best beer festival in Vancouver, make sure to buy your tickets before they sell out.
