Filming in Vancouver: Van Helsing, A Million Little Things, Riverdale, Charmed, and more

A Million Little Things

This week, a dark fantasy TV series with a wicked bite calls it a wrap on its latest season.

But just as that one prepares to call it quits, an ensemble family drama about a group of friends shaken up by the loss of one of them is about to get underway.

Plus there are a whole bunch of TV series on the horizon about to come back to the city—along with a number of new titles to add to the fun.

Here’s what happening in Vancouver’s screen scene this week.

Kelly Overton stars in Van Helsing.

First up, the American-Canadian TV series Van Helsing finishes up shooting 13 episodes for Season 4 today (June 17). Filming started back on February 26, and included some shoots in Kamloops, B.C.

Season 3, which had a finale that aired on December 28, continued to follow the journey of Vanessa Van Helsing, played by Kelly Overton, as she led the fight to take back the world from the dominance of vampires.

Season 4, which will premiere in autumn, promises to take a deeper dive into the realm of vampires and what they hope to achieve, along with a number of new villains and heroes joining the fray.

Missy Peregrym

In addition, series creator Neil LaBute (who is working on the series The I-Land) has stepped down as showrunner for the series, which will be taken over by writer Johnathan Walker. Nonetheless, LaBute will continue to be involved with the series.

The series also stars Missy Peregrym, Christopher Heyerdahl, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, Jonathan Scarfe, Trezzo Mahoro, and Aleks Paunovic.

Grace Park

The second season will delve into a new mystery connected to the ending of the first season, which included a cliffhanger involving Katherine, played by Vancouver’s Grace Park, and Eddie, played by David Guintoli.

The cast includes Romany Malco, James Roday, Allison Miller, Stéphanie Szostak, Tristan Byon, Lizzy Greene, and Christina Moses.
