We are counting the days for the seventh Invictus Games to kick off across sports venues in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025. Get excited for the international adaptive sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans set to take place from February 8-16.

The Games

As many as 550 competitors from up to 25 nations will compete in eleven adaptive sports, including six brand new winter sports competitions for the first time in Invictus Games history.
This year’s event is the seventh Invictus Games and represents the second time it has been hosted in Canada, following the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto.
The 2025 Invictus Games will host eleven sports – six of these will be adaptive winter sports (for the first time in Invictus Games history), including Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Skeleton and Wheelchair Curling. Other adaptive sports include Indoor Rowing, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby.
Opening & Closing Ceremonies

Both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be spectacular, empowering, and affordable. The family-friendly celebrations will honour the power of sport in the recovery journey of international wounded, injured and sick veterans and active service members.
One of Canada’s premiere ceremonies production teams, PRP Productions, will create the marquee events for the Games’ opening at BC Place and closing at Rogers Arena. These ceremonies will be an invitation to support and experience the unconquerable human spirit and power of the Invictus Games.
There will be plenty of other fanfare and activities as well. In addition to the ceremonies, there will also be special fan zones and other gatherings featuring athletes. Make your plans and get tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Sports Venues

The Games will be hosted at eight venues across Vancouver and Whistler. The Vancouver Convention Centre will serve as the main hub of the Games in addition to hosting Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Rugby, Indoor Rowing and Sitting Volleyball competitions.
Hillcrest Centre (home of the Vancouver Curling Club) will host Wheelchair Curling while the UBC Aquatics Centre will host the Swimming competitions in its 50m pool.
Whistler Blackcomb, North America’s largest ski resort, will host the Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding competitions on Whistler Mountain. Whistler Olympic Park (Nordic Skiing and Biathlon) and the Whistler Sliding Centre (Skeleton) will host the remaining sports.

The Invictus Games was founded in 2014 by Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, who is also the Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, the Governing Body of the Invictus Games.
Invictus means “unconquered” and the Games celebrate courage, resiliency and the strength of the human spirit. Through the power of sport, the Games will inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country.
